Energy Star meeting to discuss Lamps v1.0 specification

The EPA will host a meeting and webinar on November 30 to provide an overview of draft 1 of the Lamps v1.0 specification and gather partner input.

Energy Star has announced it will hold a webinar and meeting on November 30 to review draft 1 of the Energy Star lamp specification v1.0 and gather partner and stakeholder input to be used in further development of the specification.

Draft 1 of the specification was distributed on October 21 and can be reviewed at www.energystar.gov/lamps. The draft and cover letter includes information regarding the lamps covered and the proposed performance requirements.

The Lamps v1.0 specification will replace the existing Compact Fluorescent Lamps and Integral LED Lamps specifications, as well as the qualification requirements for GU24-based fluorescent lamps previously detailed in the Residential Light Fixture specification.

The meeting is to be held at the EPA in Washington, DC from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. Each Energy Star partner is limited to two attendees per company, revised from one in the original announcement. A live webcast and conference call in conjunction with the day’s events is available to those unable to attend, as well as a recording of the morning presentation at a later date.

The deadline for in-person registration is November 25. To register for the meeting or webinar, send an e-mail lamps@energystar.gov providing attendee name(s), company, phone number(s), email address(es) and whether you plan to attend in-person or by webinar. Please include "November 30 Lamps Meeting/Webinar" in the email subject line. Questions about the meeting may be sent to lamps@energystar.gov.
